I value my garden more for being full of blackbirds than of cherries, and very frankly give them fruit for their songs. – Joseph Addison
I have no idea who Joseph Addison was, but as gardening is more than merely rushing out on the Victoria holiday weekend and purchasing flats of flashy annuals to decorate the borders …… we will use this section of the Sparroworking blog to keep a track of what happens in a garden managed by gardeners. The posts that will shortly start to accrue to this section can be read by clicking the gardening category link in the bar to the right or by clicking here ……….
It is worthy of note, however, that while we garden in order to create a harmonious collection of plants and plantings we are mindful of the needs of our avian residents and visitors and an over-riding theme is to manage our plot for the wildlife as well as for our own pleasure.
